Would you believe me if I told you there's a good chance you'll pick up your phone 1,500 times today?

I know, the first time I heard that stat I thought it was nuttier than squirrel turds too, but according to a new study the average person handles their phone an astounding 1,500 times each day.

This is all based on the fact that you're awake for 17 hours each day.

If that sounds about right, that means you're doing a bicep curl of about four ounces, three times every two minutes you pick up your phone. For a total of 375 pounds of lifting during any given day.

Now the question becomes, why aren't we all walking around looking like Hugh Jackman or Jillian Michaels?

If we're doing that much lifting each day, in theory we should all be lean, mean, ripped fighting machines!

Oh yeah, I forgot, most of us spend the majority of our time fiddling with our phones while couch surfing, watching TV and eating pizza.

According to the study, most people use their phone for around 22.9 total hours per week. Or in other words, you spend almost one full day each week using your phone.

HELLO! Little did you know that you've become your teenage daughter.

Two-thirds of us admitted saying that picking up our phones has become such a reflex that we do it a lot of the time without even thinking about it.

Let me guess, you're ready this on your phone right now aren't you?

Oops you did it again!
