The Jonas Brothers appeared on The Late Late Show to discuss their reunion, revealing the exact moment they decided to reunite.

During the interview, Nick Jonas said he and his brothers were filming a documentary when when the idea of reuniting came about. According to the 26-year-old, the film is about their childhood and their "time in the band," as well as where they went after the group split up.

"About a year-and-a-half ago, we started filming a documentary... [that] tracks kind of our childhood into our time in the band, and it was gonna be a story about where we are today," he shared. "With separate lives, doing separate things — Joe [Jonas] with DNCE, me with my solo stuff."

He continued, "But during [filming and production] we started to realize that there was a magic that we felt like we were missing. So the process was basically just [us saying], 'Why don't we give this another shot?'"

Jonas and his brothers "started playing a little music together" and immediately found that it felt right. Fans were excited by the news.

"So we started playing a little music together and realized right away this is where we're meant to be in our lives at this moment," he said.

Despite the heartwarming nature of the Jonas Brothers reunion story, host James Corden couldn't help but poke a little fun at the band. In a pre-taped intro to the show, Corden and band leader Reggie Watts can be seen waxing nostalgic about 2013, a simpler time when the Jonas Brothers were at their peak. In an effort to save the world, Corden and Watts travel the globe in search of the band's three members, kidnap them and order them to reunite.

The documentary Jonas spoke about in the interview will stream on Amazon Studios. A release date hasn't been announced, however.
