For many people, summer ends on Labor Day weekend.

When I was a kid, school always started the day after Labor Day. And while that's not the case so much anymore (My Grandkids started school in the middle of August!), it's still the final long weekend before fall.

The South Dakota Game Fish and Parks has special events planned at our beautiful State Parks from one end of the Sunshine State to the other.

If you're out west, there's the Southern Hills Triathlon at Angostura or the Badger Clark celebration at Custer State Park. Back east, enjoy the Monarch Butterfly tagging at Good Earth. Oakwood Lakes State Park will have the Patriotic Campsite Decorating Contest, and at Lewis and Clark Recreation Area it's the 'Farewell To Summer' Beach Party.

Oh, there's plenty more, too, and you can get all the details on all the events at the State Parks here.

So go ahead, get the family together and have that one last weekend summer fling at one (or more!) of South Dakota's beautiful State Parks.
