RAPID CITY - A 19-year-old South Dakota man has been sentenced to a year in custody for driving drunk and spitting on an emergency medical technician following a crash.

The Rapid City Journal reports that Trey Wright, of Rapid City, pleaded guilty earlier to driving under the influence, sliming and simple assault.

Authorities say Wright was combative with law enforcement and an EMT who was attempting to treat his injuries following the February 2012 wreck.
