Martin Truex, Jr. was very fast in Sunday's Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race at Chicagoland. He came back from an early race issue to win by a large amount at the end.

To make things even sweeter for Truex, this was the Playoff opener for the championship. The victory earned automatic advancement to the Round of 8. Take a look at the playoff situation.

Truex was dominate at Chicagoland but had to really work for the win. Speeding on a pit stop plus loose lug nuts, caused penalties that put Truex deep in the field at the end of Stage 1.

He charged to the front and was pulling away from the pack at the checkered flag. Truex finished over seven seconds ahead of second place Chase Elliott.

Playoff drivers claimed the top six positions in the final running order. Kevin Harvick was at or near the front all afternoon and ran third. Denny Hamlin was fourth, followed by Kyle Larson and Brad Keselowski. See where your driver came in.
