Minnesota Vikings Select WR Justin Jefferson, CB Jeff Gladney

The Minnesota Vikings entered the 2020 NFL Draft with two first-round picks. By the time it was over, Minnesota selected two players and picked up another two picks.

Minnesota selected LSU wide receiver Justin Jefferson 22nd overall in the draft. The 6'2 202 pound receiver was tied for first in total receptions and second in total receiving touchdowns last year in college football. NFL.com's Lance Zierlein says that Jefferson has great burst speed off the line of scrimmage and has a great catch radius that would help out any quarterback. His NFL comparison is listed as former Packers and Vikings receiver Greg Jennings.

The Vikings were scheduled to pick again at 25, but General Manager Rick Spielman found a trade partner in San Francisco. The 49ers sent picks 31, 117, and 176 in exchange for pick 25.

It didn't take long for Minnesota to make its selection at pick 31. The Vikings went with cornerback Jeff Gladney out of TCU. Gladney started 10 of 12 games for TCU last season and tallied 31 tackles and one interception giving him Big 12 First-Team All-Conference honors. The addition of Gladney should help the Vikings after losing cornerbacks Xavier Rhodes, Trae Waynes, and Mackensie Alexander during the offseason.

Minnesota will enter night two of the NFL Draft on Friday night with three picks spread between the second and third rounds. The Vikings will pick at 58th (2nd round), 89th (3rd round), and 105th (3rd round) pending any future trades.
