During the holidays we often like to give back to our community and help in any way we can. This year, we were lucky enough to partner with Minnwest Bank in Sioux Falls to be able to bring winter jackets, boots, and winter appeal to the children of The Bishop Dudley Hospitality House.

The kids were able to fill out wish lists with sizes and favorite colors so they would get exactly what they needed and wanted.

We went out to Target and found items that were in the children's sizes and visited The Bishop Dudley House to drop off the bags on Wednesday. Unfortunately, the children were at school during the time we visited but we left the bags on their beds for them to find when they came home.

Minnwest Bank employees were able to pay on Fridays throughout the year to wear jeans and those funds are used for different charitable efforts throughout the community.

Their generosity for this event is just another reminder of how much good continues to come from local businesses during the holiday season around the Sioux Empire.

The Bishop Dudley Hospitality House can always use the following items to help take care of the people that stay with them:

  • Baby Wipes
  • Diapers
  • Formula
  • Paper plates
  • Plastic Silverware
  • Travel Size Deodorants
  • Children's books
  • Board Games
  • Shampoo
  • Body Wash
  • Clothing (men, women and children sizes)

The Bishop Dudley Hospitality House offers those in the Sioux Empire area a place to sleep at night, lunch at 11:30 AM Monday-Friday and lockers are available to rent for $10 a week or $30 a month for those who will be staying with them. No one will be turned away if they need a warm place to spend the night during the winter season.

This Hospitality House can be a great resource for those who are looking to find a job in the area. If someone happens to be a felon, there is also a list of employment opportunities available to help them get back on their feet.

If you feel would prefer to give a monetary gift you may donate that here.

If you would like to donate your time you can contact Bishop Dudley Hospitality House's Volunteer Coordinator through her email: adoran@bdhh.org.
