What do some of the streets in downtown Sioux Falls and the aisles at a Hy-Vee store have in common?  One way directions.

As my wife and I go to stores around the Sioux Falls area, we have noticed that more of them are making their aisles one way and now Hy-Vee has joined the list.  This is all in an effort to slow the spread of COVID-19.

According to Dakota News Now, newly installed signage in all its stores will guide shoppers in the proper one-way direction.  This effort should stop people from passing each other and make it easier to maintain the recommended six feet distance.

The grocery chain also "strongly encourages" a "one person per cart" rule.  The company is asking that only one person per family go inside the store to limit the number of shoppers.

Dakota News Now reports Hy-Vee will install additional temporary window panels on the backside of checkouts to provide extra protection for workers and shoppers.

Hy-Vee announced on Tuesday that they will temporarily limit the number of meat purchases.
