The 28th Annual Parade of Lights is just a smidge over two weeks away, but now we know who will be leading the procession on the Friday evening, (November 29) , following Thanksgiving, beginning at 7:30 PM.

Downtown Sioux Falls, Inc(DTSF), has announced that former City of Sioux Falls Director of Planning and Development, Mike Cooper, will be this year's, Grand Marshall. Cooper recently retired from his position with the city, after 32 years of service, during which he championed a number of unique projects, including beautification plans and the addition of green spaces.

DTSF President Joe Batcheller, says this is a great opportunity to celebrate Cooper's "contribution to our community".

Seated with him at the start of the parade will be Junior Grand Marshall and Lincoln High School freshman, Katie Jensen. Katie participates in volleyball, has performed with the Dakota Performing Arts Academy and volunteers at the Washington Pavilion.

Both marshalls will present awards at the Parade of Lights After-Party & Awards Ceremony at the Holiday Inn City Centre, following the parade.

Put the Parade of Lights on your calendar and join in the fun of this great Sioux Falls tradition.
