Fox Announces Latest Live TV Musical Event, Cast: ‘RENT’ with Vanessa Hudgens

The next musical to be tackled on live TV is none other than Rent. The 90's Broadway smash rock opera will be live on Fox on January 27.

Fox's last live musical was Grease featuring Julianne Hough and Aaron Tveit as Sandy and Danny.

The cast looks pretty good to me!

• Vanessa Hudgens (Maureen)
• Kiersey Clemons (Joanne)
• Jordan Fisher (Mark)
• Brennin Hunt (Roger)
• Tinashe (Mimi)
• Valentina (Angel)
• Brandon Victor Dixon (Tom Collins)
• Mario (Benjamin Coffin III)

And Keala Settle from The Greatest Showman will guest on the signature song, "Seasons of Love."

A bunch of the cast is no stranger to Broadway productions on TV. Vanessa Hudgens was in Grease Live along with Jordan Fisher. Brandon Victor Dixon really made a name for himself in the live TV version of Jesus Christ Superstar.

Other cast members have been performing for a while as well. Brennin Hunt you may know from the TV show, Nashville. Kiersey Clemons was in the movie Dope as well as Neighbors 2. R&B singers and performers Tinashe and Mario have plenty of performance experience. And Valentina you may know from RuPaul's Drag Race.

I have a good feeling about this cast! Rent is one of my favorites so let's hope they don't screw this up!
