In what sounds like something truly special, Seth Rogen, Zach Galifianakis and Bill Hader will combine their comedic forces for The Something, the directorial debut from 22 Jump Street scribe Rodney Rothman. The project has been percolating for a while, but it looks as though Rothman and Co. are finally ready for take-off with the space-set comedy.

Per THR, Rogen, Galifianakis and Hader are set to star in The Something, a comedy that centers on a group of castaway astronauts who have been drifting alone in space for years until they finally happen upon another spacecraft. Rothman will produce along with Rogen and his Point Grey Pictures banner, with Universal set to distribute.

Rothman wrote the scripts for 22 Jump Street, Grudge Match and The Something, which will mark his directorial debut. A former writer for David Letterman, Rothman is also set to reprise scripting duties for 23 Jump Street. Hader previously starred with Rogen in Pineapple Express, Knocked Up and Superbad, and appears next in Steven Spielberg’s The BFG.

Galifianakis currently stars in the FX dark comedy Baskets, co-produced by Louis C.K., and will voice the Joker in The LEGO Batman Movie. As for Rogen, he can be seen next in Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising and in James Franco’s The Disaster Artist, a film that explores the making of Tommy Wiseau’s The Room. Rogen is also behind AMC’s upcoming series adaptation of Preacher.
