It will be a busy night of high school football around the area, but the biggest game of the night will be at Howard Wood Field.

A battle of two 7-1 teams will take place with an opportunity to grab the top seed in the 11AAA playoffs. Sioux Falls Washington (#1 in Jerry Palleschi's High School Football Rankings) and Sioux Falls Roosevelt (#2) will take the field with a 7:00 kick.

Both teams have experienced a set back this season. For Washington it came early. The Warriors lost 21-10 to Lincoln in the second game of the season. The Warriors have six straight wins since, and have outscored their opponents 280-56. Washington has two straight shutout victories.

Roosevelt's lone loss this season was two weeks ago at Brandon Valley. The Lynx controlled the Rough Rider offense in a 21-7 win. Roosevelt bounced back from that loss last week to defeat Rapid City Central 68-26. The Rough Riders average just under 39 points per game.

The Class 11AAA playoffs begin next Thursday. No matter the outcome tonight these two teams will be ranked 1st and 2nd in terms of seeding. Neither team can fall below a 2nd seed.
