Safety Village Teens C.R.A.S.H. Clinic Helps Make Roads Safer for Everybody

There is an organization working hard to protect you and your family, in your home, at work, in your vehicles and even outdoors! Safety Village of South Dakota, which is located year-round at the W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds at 100 North Lyon Boulevard, is that group. They believe that most injuries can be avoided if people learn warning signs and also how to avoid dangerous situations.

Safety Village works with community leaders, private companies and more to create safety education and training courses with the goal of making our area a safer place to live.

That is exactly what the Teen Car Repair And Safety Help (C.R.A.S.H.) Clinics are all about. These four-hour classes are designed to educate and inform teens from 13 to 18 years old about the rules, regulations, and responsibilities, that are part and parcel of being a vehicle owner and operator.

The next C.R.A.S.H. clinic is coming up on Saturday, November 16, from 10 AM to 2 PM at Safety Village of South Dakota on the Fairgrounds. Registration is required, learner's permits are not, and the cost is $25 which includes lunch.

Some of the subjects which will be covered include:

• Basic car maintenance
• What's under the hood
• How to change a tire & the importance of proper inflation pressure for tires
• Dashboard icons
• What to do in an emergency
• Laws of the road
• The dangers of impaired and distracted driving
• Rural and winter driving
