What once was just a big piece of empty land between 26th and 41st streets on I-29 is now becoming a shopping destination hot spot.

The Lake Lorraine development will be home to several major retailers including Hobby Lobby, Carters, OshKosh, Ross Dress for Less, Home Goods, DSW Designer Shoe Warehouse, and Marshalls. Not to mention yet-to-be-announced restaurants. The development will also be home to the upscale hotel Aloft.

Hobby Lobby will be the first of the big stores to open. It opened Monday (October 2). Ross Dress for Less opens Saturday (October 7). Home Goods, Marshalls, OshKosh and Carters all plan to open October 19.
