Sioux Falls Police, Highway Patrol troopers, and Sheriff's deputies were busy pulling over kids on Halloween night in the Sioux Empire, but it wasn't for anything wrong they had done.

Again this year, some of Sioux Falls finest were hosting their annual "Stickers and Snickers" program.

For the 7th year in-a-row, law enforcement agencies from around the Sioux Empire were handing out Snickers candy bars and badge stickers to children out trick-or-treating in various Sioux Falls neighborhoods.

Sioux Falls Police officer Dane Chernock told KSFY TV, "It's a great opportunity for us to get to know the children in this area. Build a positive outlook. Have them know we're more than just police officers,  we're people and that's important."

According to KSFY TV, officers hope the Stickers and Snickers program helps to serve as a reminder to motorists in the community just how important it is to drive safely on Sioux Falls streets on Halloween night when so many of our young ones are out and about.
