Car windows around Sioux Falls are safe, for now.

KSFY TV reports that Sioux Falls police have arrested a 28-year-old man in connection with a string of recent burglaries in Sioux Falls.

Mitchell Craig Tidwell was arrested by police in connection with 30 to 40 vehicle break-ins at several apartment complexes around Sioux Falls in the past several weeks.

Police spokesman Sam Clemens said Tidwell allegedly stole multiple items including credit cards, purses, and five firearms, according to KSFY.

Police reviewed surveillance video to get Tidwell's description after police say he allegedly used stolen credit cards at multiple businesses.

Clemens said three of the five stolen firearms have been returned.  They are working to return all of the stolen items to victims.

Tidwell has been charged with two counts of possession of a stolen firearm and possession of a controlled substance.  Clemens said more charges are pending.
