South Dakota Ranks Too High in Online Body-Shaming
Mean tweets and online comments regarding weight are mean, degrading, and can destroy one's self-image - and they are all too real.
EllipticalReviews.com, sort of a body-shaming watchdog group, analyzed over 17,000 fat shaming tweets sent from across the country to determine if geography plays a factor in online bullying.
Unfortunately, South Dakota came in as the 5th most body-shaming bullies in America. Wyoming is ranked the most offensive and North Dakota comes in at #3.
According to the research, these are the 10 states with the most body-shaming internet bullies:
- Wyoming
- Vermont
- North Dakota
- Alaska
- South Dakota
- Delaware
- Montana
- Rhode Island
- New Hampshire
- Maine
Instead of letting someone know they should lose weight, encourage one another to change for a better, healthier person. Otherwise, it's just plain old internet bullying - and we're better than that.
