Former Journey singer Steve Perry has opened up to fans on his Fan Asylum website for only the second time this year. In the post, he revealed he had a relationship with a woman, who ended up succumbing to cancer, and he himself had a recent cancer scare.

Perry said he fell for psychologist and breast cancer survivor Kellie Nash after seeing her in a Lifetime channel special. The two met and went on to have a relationship, leaving Perry to write his "life was forever changed," but Nash's cancer came back and sadly, she died late last year.

Then, three weeks ago, Perry had a mole removed from his face that turned out to be cancerous. Perry writes, "I've had two surgeries in two weeks to remove all the cancer cells and I've been told they think they got it all and no other treatments are required."
