Law enforcement officials conducted a thorough search of Brandon Valley High School on Tuesday to diffuse a potential threat written on a bathroom wall.

Superintendent David Pappone reported the findings of the situation via voicemail to the District’s parents.

"We discovered some graffiti in a restroom at Brandon Valley High School (Tuesday) morning that included a reference to a suicide bomb. We followed our crisis plan protocol and notified law enforcement who responded immediately. After a search conducted by the sweep team and law enforcement combined with the nature and location of the graffiti, it was determined that there was no credible threat to the safety of building occupants."

Pappone and his administrative staff sent the notice as a courtesy to parents and not as an alarm. Students and staff remained in school during and after the search.
