The highly-anticipated sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming won’t arrive until next summer — which means it’ll be quite some time before we get so much as a peek at some of the new characters (like Jake Gyllenhaal’s Mysterio!) in Far From Home. But how about the official logo? Will that do?

Although ‘Silver & Black’ is off the table, the studio is plotting numerous standalone films set in and around the Spider-Man universe, including ‘Nightwatch’ and ‘Jackpot,’ along with previously announced films like ‘Kraven the Hunter’ and ‘Morbius.’

The ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ sequel will feature both Sam Jackson’s Nick Fury and Cobie Smulders’ Maria Hill.

Although Silver & Black is on hold (for now), Sony has plenty of other plans for the world of Spider-Man, including this fall’s Venom (starring Tom Hardy and his voice) and Morbius (starring Jared Leto as a super-powered vampire), as well as the animated Into the Spider-Verse. Clearly, the studio is keeping their live-action offerings centered on villains and anti-heroes, and they’ve hired a screenwriter to tackle the next addition: Kraven the Hunter.

Seriously, why can’t we see Tom Hardy inside that big Venom mouth?

While we wait to learn if Jake Gyllenhaal is officially joining Spider-Man: Far From Home as Tom Holland’s new foe, another actor has been enlisted for Peter Parker’s next adventure: J.B. Smoove, the comedian and actor best known for playing Leon on HBO’s Curb Your Enthusiasm, has reportedly joined the Homecoming sequel in an undisclosed role.

There wouldn’t be a Marvel without the artist who created Spider-Man and Doctor Strange with Stan Lee.

If Tom Hardy wrestling with an inner alien parasite in what is clearly a thinly-veiled metaphor for his relationship with his own voice isn’t enough for you, try this one on for size: Jared Leto, the Actor whom Denis Villeneuve once compared to Jesus, is preparing to ascend to his final form for Morbius — an upcoming Spider-Man sorta-kinda spinoff about a super-powered soulless bloodsucker. Should be a real stretch!

More people have watched the trailer for Tom Hardy’s ‘Venom’ than have watched any Spider-Man movie’s trailer in history.
