Angela Drake of Tea, South Dakota knows the pain of suicide! Angela'a daughter Brittany Corcoran took her life over a year and a half ago.

"South Dakota is number seven across the nation for suicide loss. We have a lot of education to do out there and to get people some help."

Instead of keeping it a secret, Angela has used her daughter's loss to make others aware of suicide.

"You know I reached out and gained hope from anybody I can. Just trying to spread that hope to other people who have lost loved ones as well is important for me."

If you're going through tough times right now and don't think life is worth living, Angela offers this message of hope!

"If we talk about it we know it's all right to ask for help when we are feeling like that. Some of us believe we shouldn't be here anymore. We need them to let them know they are not alone and offer them hope."

Angela Drake invites the community to attend the "Out of the Darkness" walk at Terrace Park in Sioux Falls on September 23rd. It's presented by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
