The current slate of Senate confirmation hearings has had a good amount of posturing, grandstanding and dressing down. A simple question and answer session is refreshing.

As directed by the U.S. Constitution, the Senate has the responsibility to confirm Presidential appointments. Senator Mike Rounds as a member of the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs posed questions to nominee Dr. Ben Carson as Secretary of Housing and Urban Development.

Focused on the plight of the Tribes in South Dakota, Veterans who have served our country and Community Development Block Grants, Rounds searched for solutions to problems he has witnessed during his time as Governor and in the Senate.
