School letter sent home to parents asks students to attend gun safety program.

South Dakotans appreciate their right to carry firearms. That became obvious with the news that the state saw a 21 percent increase in concealed carry permits during 2015.

At the White House on Tuesday, President Obama introduced 10 new provisions aimed at reducing the gun violence he says is plaguing the entire country, as evidenced by the spate of mass shootings that have occurred over the last several years.

Lots of people are packing heat in South Dakota. But not as many as in Wyoming. They have the #1 position among the 'Most Heavily Armed States in America'.
