Need to lose weight in the worst way, but you're dreading the thought of becoming a calorie counter existing on a steady dose of garden greens, fat free cottage cheese, protein bars and rubbery tasting rice cakes?

Here's a bit of good news, your diet doesn't just need to consist of a bunch of nasty tasting foods.

A new survey just revealed that three out of four people who lost at least 10% of their body weight on a diet, ate dessert or something else unhealthy at least once a week while dieting.

Even better yet, one in three ate a sweet temptation or a little something unhealthy every single day!

The secret is having the discipline to stop after that one piece of pie or serving of chips. The mistake people make is continuing to hoover down practically the entire bag of chips or going back for an additional one or two pieces of pie.

Just like eating bacon at every meal, you can't do that!

The key to sustained weight loss is eating well balanced meals, consisting of smart food choices like meat, fish, eggs, fruits, and vegetables. Then copious amounts of restraint when you mix in a tantalizing temptation like a sweet treat.

Oh yeah, a little exercise never hurts either.

The survey asked people if they'd ever failed on a diet before, and half of them said they had failed, and it was always on a diet when they tried to deprive themselves of everything remotely unhealthy.

Weight loss doesn't need to be a daily struggle, just make a series of smart choices and stick with them.
